Great ride today exploring new trails today around Pitmedden Forest. Always fun to explore new places with awesome people!
We rode about 15km, although with the current trail conditions (bog!) it definitely felt more. Pitmedden was a new location for me, and I think would definitely be good for an XC or cyclocross ride. The trails are mostly singletrack with a few technical descents and lots of technical climbs - a good place to practice climbing technique. I was using Schwalbe Hans Dampfs front and rear on this ride, however I would like to try Magic Marys for similar slick conditions as they seem to be a good tyre for those conditions. What tyres do you use during winter? I am looking forward to returning to Pitmedden to take the new Kona round when it arrives in the new year. More soon!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great Christmas. I got these new gloves, they're from a brand called Ale Bike Wear which although not winter cycling specific I just had to try out today. What do you think of the colour? I know they wouldn't be everyone's first choice of colour but I'm a big fan of fluorescent pink look!
With the weather being mild at present I took the opportunity to try these gloves out on a short ride. For mild weather these gloves are great with super tacky palms. A few other new pieces to try out soon too so keep an eye out for those. Ride planned for later on this week with a big group so that will be awesome! More soon! Food! Skiing days require a lot of fuel - so big nutritious meals are a must! Here is today's lunch- terryaki noodles- good mix of carbs and protein to keep energy up throughout the afternoon. More soon!
Hello! These views are just awesome - Thomas helped me capture them today. It seems to be one of the only places in the Alps with enough snow to ski. So much sun too, although apparently other areas in the Alps are reopening their bike parks due to lack of snow! Whilst I love Alps riding in the summer, at this time of year skiing is definitely what trips to mountains is for. More soon!
Praline hot chocolate with cinnamon today- sooo tasty!! Christmas requires these sorts of things I think. What do you think makes Christmas? More soon!
Hi everyone, very exciting first sneak peak at the 2016 KONA range which has landed with me. As you can likely tell the bike has already been for a spin (dirt all over the caliper). More on the bikes soon - time to go explore some more trails first!
![]() Hey everyone! Lots of picutres to share today as I was leading a ride this weekend. Conditions were prime with a super cold start to the day, -4C for the duration which meant no soggy shorts! It was a super short ride with lots of technical terrain - more of a short advanced ride than intermediate in the end but I decided to mix up the ride with the rider level who attended.
A lovely lady at a Muckmedden race heard me talking about having cold feet in winter and suggested I buy these feet warmers to try. I didnt know these existed before but they really do the job well - what a difference it makes to winter rides when your feet can stay cosy. I knew hand warmers existed but I just had to share these with you all! Hopefully we can all have a winter of outdoor activities with warm feet!
